Photography + Interviews + Editorial Design + Book Art

Based on my experience, FASHION IN TRANSIT  explores how moving to different cultural contexts impacts a person’s sense of self, (through the lense of fashion). The project is a whole made from three diffrent outcomes.

VENU D’AILLEURS (from elsewhere)
is the main piece of the project. In this book, the portraits and interviews of ten young migrants who moved from home to pursue their studies or work opportunities. The project takes place in London, and each person is photographed in an area that had an impact on their personal journey.

Alongside the book, a passport, showcasing proof of personal evolution:
18° 31’ 59.9988’’ N, 42°41’55’N 2°53’’44’’E, 48° 51’ 52.977s’’ N, 51°30’26’’ N 0°7’’39’’ W,  is divided in four chapters, one for each city I lived in as a teenager/young adult. Inside, polaroids of how I used to dress in each era.

Finally, considering the project as an exhibition piece, to bring the all together: an installation showcasing the book and passport with screenprinted pictures and elements reminding of clothing.
